Dubai Municipality launches new service to check water quality with AI

Dubai: Dubai Municipality has launched a major initiative to test the purity and safety of household water. Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology will now be used to detect harmful bacteria such as Legionella and E. coli in water . This will not only reduce the risk of disease but also strengthen Dubai’s public health system.

This new service will now test various water sources, including household water tanks, taps, swimming pools, and unpacked drinking water . The use of AI significantly reduces lab testing time compared to previous years. Once the results are available, appropriate action can be taken immediately to prevent waterborne diseases.

Hind Mahmoud Ahmed, Director of the Dubai Central Laboratory Department, said that the municipality is constantly leveraging new technologies to make Dubai a smart and safe city. Their aim is to make water testing fast, reliable, and effective so that public health is not compromised. This initiative will also help Dubai meet international standards essential for a better lifestyle.
