New Delhi: Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has attacked the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the police action against protesting students in the capital. Questioning the Prime Minister’s silence, Rahul Gandhi said that PM Modi should apologize to the youth of the country for the brutality against the students in Delhi. Following this, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi visited RML Hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured.
After meeting with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Rahul Gandhi clarified on social media that Parliament should have a detailed discussion on the use of force against students and the ongoing exam crisis. He questioned that if the country’s Parliament cannot discuss the future of India’s youth, what justification does it have? He vowed that the opposition will not allow the voices of students to be suppressed, from the streets to Parliament.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also condemned the incident and demanded the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Meanwhile, after the NDA meeting, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has directed the strictest possible action against those responsible for the NEET paper leak. Calling it a national concern, PM Modi emphasized the need to create a transparent and foolproof examination system.
