Thane: Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) National Executive President Supriya Sule has strongly targeted the Mahayuti government of Maharashtra and the Ajit Pawar faction. Speaking to reporters at the party office in Thane on Wednesday, she raised serious questions about the government’s working style, citing the case filed against MNS leader Amit Thackeray.
Supriya Sule said that while a case was filed against Amit Thackeray within just two hours for removing a poster of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from a government polytechnic college in Bandra, no FIR has been filed even after so many days have passed regarding the untimely death of former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash. She accused the government of bias and double standards.
Baramati MP Supriya Sule criticized leaders of the Ajit Pawar faction, saying that even after Ajit Pawar’s death, his party’s MPs and MLAs are enjoying the pleasures of power, but no leader has spoken a word about the FIR and investigation into the accident. Expressing concern, she said that even the family is not being given clear information about the direction in which the investigation into this tragic accident is going.
It is noteworthy that on January 28th of this year, a tragic plane crash while landing at Baramati Airport claimed the lives of six people, including former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. A detailed investigation is currently underway by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB). Initial reports identified low visibility and deficiencies in runway infrastructure as the primary causes of the accident.
Following Ajit Pawar’s death, his wife, Sunetra Pawar, was unanimously elected as the party’s new national president. His elder son, Parth Pawar, has also played an active role in the organization and has reached the Rajya Sabha. However, Supriya Sule’s latest statement has once again sparked political debate in the state regarding the FIR and the pace of the investigation.
