Ayodhya: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has appointed retired Indian Air Force Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra as the temple’s first Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Following his appointment, his first introductory meeting was held at the trust office in Ayodhya. While this new administrative arrangement has been welcomed at many places, Congress leaders have launched sharp attacks, questioning the temple’s arrangements and the ruling party.
Following the appointment of Air Marshal (Retd.) Jitendra Mishra as CEO of the trust, Congress leader Pratap Singh Khachariyawas criticized the government over the temple’s security and recent incidents. He stated that the theft at the Ram Temple has deeply hurt the faith of the countrymen. Such an incident at the abode of Lord Ram, in whose name people swear by dignity and honesty, is a grave crime. He alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party, which came to power on the back of Ram’s name, is making irresponsible statements about the incident, and that the BJP urgently needs to correct its stance.
Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasara, reacting to the new appointments to the trust, expressed distrust in the administrative system. He clarified that he did not wish to comment personally on the newly appointed officials. However, he said that as long as the Bharatiya Janata Party and its top leadership continue to influence the trust, the temple’s administration and the trust will not be able to function smoothly.
Jitendra Mishra attended his first official meeting in Ayodhya after assuming the role of CEO. He stated that today’s meeting was an introductory one, where everyone got to know each other and understood the working procedure. He stated that he would hold regular meetings with the Trust to fully understand his responsibilities and serve as CEO with complete dedication. He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the selection committee and the Trust for their trust in him, attributing it to the grace of Lord Ram.
Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has created the post of CEO for the first time to manage daily administrative arrangements, facilities for devotees and better coordination between various agencies. Jitendra Mishra, who has served in important positions in the Air Force for almost four decades, has vast experience in the efficient running of large institutions. The selection committee had submitted a panel of three senior former officers to the Trust, which included the names of former IPS Rajesh Pandey, former DGP of Bihar Dr. Paresh Saxena and former IAS Dinesh Chandra. After thorough deliberations, the Trust finalized the name of Jitendra Mishra.
