Political Turmoil Over Ram Temple Donations; Digvijay Singh Makes Allegations, BJP Retaliates

Bhopal/Ujjain: Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh will embark on a long padayatra from Ujjain to Ayodhya on October 20. He has named the 1,000-kilometre journey the “Satya Sanatan Swabhiman Padayatra.”

The primary objective of the padayatra is to raise a strong voice against those who allegedly use religion as a tool for political gain and those who profit financially in the name of religion.

Asked about undertaking such a long padayatra at the age of 80, Digvijay Singh said that although he is 80 years old, he feels like an energetic 50-year-old. He also targeted V.D. Savarkar and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), alleging that their ideology has deeply harmed the core spirit of Sanatan Dharma.

With the announcement of the march, Digvijay Singh also raised serious questions about the donations collected for the construction of the Ram Temple and how the funds were spent. He alleged that a significant portion of the public donations collected for the temple was used to build Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and RSS offices, as well as for election-related activities.

Alleging massive financial irregularities involving donations received for the temple, Singh claimed that between Rs 200 crore and Rs 300 crore had been misappropriated, including funds received in cash, gold, and silver.

Digvijay Singh also claimed that eight months of CCTV footage related to the temple had been deliberately deleted as part of a planned strategy. He said the alleged deletion raises serious questions about transparency and accountability.
