Congress President Kharge and Rahul Gandhi appealed to the people to vote

New Delhi: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former party president Rahul Gandhi appealed to the voters to exercise their franchise to save the Constitution and for inclusive development amid the ongoing voting in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections. Rahul Gandhi appealed to the people to come out of their homes “as soldiers of the Constitution” to protect democracy. 

In the second phase, apart from all the 20 seats of Kerala, 14 out of 28 seats of Karnataka, 13 seats of Rajasthan, eight seats each of Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, six seats of Madhya Pradesh, five seats each of Assam and Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Voting is being held on three seats each in West Bengal and one seat each in Manipur, Tripura and Jammu and Kashmir. Congress President Kharge wrote, ‘We, the people of India’ – this spirit of the Constitution of India should resonate in your hearts and minds before pressing the button to vote. Don’t forget that this is not a normal election. This is an election to save democracy from the clutches of dictatorship. The Congress President said, always give importance to your vote, because it can bring change in the lives of 140 crore Indians. Referring to Congress’s five pillars of justice, youth justice, women’s justice, farmer’s justice, worker’s justice and equity justice, Kharge said, imagine a better future where justice, freedom, equality and freedom are guaranteed. A future where rapid inclusive growth and transformative policies are guaranteed.
