IOCUSA PR on K. Sudhakaran’s unilateral action in violation of AICC norms

The recent appointment of the OICC Global President by K. Sudhakaran is out of norms and protocols.

The recent report circulating in the media that there is a ‘coronation’ of a new Global President for OICC sounds more like a unilateral and irrational action-based rather than a commitment to the norms and principles of the Congress party and its organization. If the report is accurate, it is simply done at the whims of a single individual whose grip on the state apparatus is fast slipping away, “said George Abraham, Vice-Chair of the Indian Overseas Congress, USA.

Mr. Sam Pitroda, the Chairman of the Overseas Congress Department, has written again to Mr. K.C. Venugopal to act against those trying to divide the Indian Diaspora for political and selfish reasons. Mr. Pitroda wrote, “This issue has been pending for three years. Mr. Kharge and Mr. Rahul Gandhi are aware of this and agree that we cannot encourage or allow parallel organization against IOC abroad by state PCCs. Kerala is the only state engaged in such activity and must be stopped”.

Dr. Arathi Krishna, AICC Secretary in Charge, wrote to the Acting President of Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr. M.M. Hassan, saying,  “Please be informed that the Overseas Congress Department does not recognize those appointments. The AICC mandates the Department to organize overseas entities supporting the Indian National Congress under the Chairmanship of Shri. Sam Pitroda. It is of utmost importance that we refrain from engaging in activities that sow discord within the Congress body. Instead, let us unite under the Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) organizational structure specifically designed to mobilize our overseas activities.”

“It is regrettable that while a critical election is underway in India, some individuals are diverting their energy towards self-development and ego-satisfaction, neglecting the larger interest of the Congress Party,” said Mohinder Singh Gilzian, President of the IOCUSA, underscoring the need for collective action and focus on the party’s interests.
