New Delhi: Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has taken a major step in favor of the country’s students and job seekers. He has launched a nationwide campaign called “Schools’ Echo” for the rights of youth. Rahul Gandhi strongly appealed to the youth across the country to be a part of this campaign, saying that the main objective of this campaign is to bring serious concerns like education, rigging in competitive examinations and unemployment directly to the ears of the government.
Announcing the campaign on social media platforms, Rahul Gandhi wrote that if any student has suffered the pain of paper leaks, cheating in exams, or exorbitant fees, this campaign is directly for them. Launching a scathing attack on the current system, he said that today’s system has shattered the golden dreams of countless young people. Millions of families have risked their life’s hard-earned money for their children’s future, only to be met with disappointment. Rahul Gandhi clarified that “Chhatraon Ki Goonj” is not just a campaign, but a powerful platform that will fight against the government for affordable education, transparent examinations, and respectable employment. He appealed to the youth to sign the petition, as the more names are added, the stronger the students’ voice will become.
This nationwide movement has officially begun with the “Students’ Echo Maharally” in Kota, a coaching hub in Rajasthan. The Congress Party has developed a comprehensive plan to organize protests, public outreach, and student dialogue across the country as part of this campaign. In the coming days, Rahul Gandhi himself will address major student conferences in major educational centers like Allahabad (Prayagraj), Patna, and Delhi. To bring this movement to fruition, workers from the Congress student wing, the NSUI, and the Youth Congress have mobilized with full force. The party is working on a strategy to raise these burning issues with full force, from the streets to Parliament.
Citing feedback from youth during his various travels, Rahul Gandhi expressed deep concern over the mental health of students and the poor state of the education system. He said that the standard of government education in the country is continuously declining, while private institutions have become so expensive that they are beyond the reach of the average family. He also raised the issue of the severe lack of career options facing the country’s youth. Rahul Gandhi said that he has interacted with millions of youth and found that today’s youth are limited to just five career fields—engineer, doctor, lawyer, IAS, and army. He described the lack of career diversity as a major problem facing the country.
Rahul Gandhi’s campaign comes at a time when the country’s youth are outraged by the paper leak scandal. Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the dates for the re-examination of the controversial NEET-UG 2026. The exam will now be held on June 21st from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. It’s worth noting that the previous exam, held on May 5th, had to be cancelled due to strong protests after strong allegations of paper leaks. The Congress leadership believes that “Chhatron Ki Goonj” will prove to be a milestone in bringing the youth together to protest against similar corruption and irregularities in the examination system.
