Dehradun : The political controversy surrounding the alleged purification of an event venue in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, is deepening. In this context, an important meeting of senior leaders and workers was held at the Dehradun office of State Congress Vice President and former MLA Rajkumar to finalize preparations for the proposed siege (march) of the Chief Minister’s residence on Monday.
During the meeting, Pritam Singh, President of the State Congress Campaign Committee and MLA from Chakrata, strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party governments at the center and state. He stated that the common people are facing significant hardship due to the state government’s anti-people policies, against which the Congress party is continuously fighting to protect social justice, public interest, and the Constitution. He appealed to workers to participate in this demonstration with full dedication.
Meanwhile, State Congress Vice President Rajkumar clarified that the siege of the Chief Minister’s residence is not merely a political demonstration, but rather a fight to protect the Constitution and social justice. He demanded that the state government immediately take strict legal action against those who allegedly defaced the venue of Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge’s event and those who supported this act. He also questioned the state government’s motives regarding the FIR filed against Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
State Congress Vice President Lalchand Sharma, who was present at the meeting, stated that disrespecting the country’s constitutional values would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He called on workers from across the state to unite and reach Dehradun to make this protest a historic one. Local councilors, party officials, and a large number of workers were present on the occasion.
