I am a Modi devotee and will remain a proud member of the BJP: Sreelekha

Thiruvananthapuram: BJP councillor in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, R. Sreelekha, has denied reports suggesting that she has resigned from the party. Sreelekha clarified that she has not resigned from the BJP and will remain a proud member of the party until her death. Speaking through her YouTube channel, she alleged that certain individuals were attempting to tarnish her reputation.

“Ever since I joined the BJP, some media outlets have been spreading false news about me. Even after being informed that the reports were false, they continued to publish them. The BJP is the party I believe in. It is a great party with strong ideals, dedicated to serving the nation. I consider it a matter of pride to be a member of this party,” she said.

“I have been with the BJP for only two years. During this period, I became the BJP vice-president and later the corporation president. The party loves and supports me. Party leaders visited me in the hospital, and I reassured them. That is why I decided to withdraw my resignation,” Sreelekha explained.

She further clarified that there were no political reasons behind her decision to resign from her position. According to her, the decision was prompted by the numerous challenges she faced while carrying out her responsibilities as a councillor.

“There were no political reasons behind my resignation announcement. I decided to resign because I was facing several difficulties in fulfilling my duties as a councillor. I had no desire to become a member of the National Commission for Women. I returned to my work because I did not want to stay in Delhi. It is absurd that Congress leaders invited me to join their party. I have no intention of joining any other political party. I am a Modi devotee, and I will never resign from the BJP,” Sreelekha asserted.

Reaffirming her commitment to the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sreelekha dismissed speculation about a possible change in her political allegiance and maintained that she would continue to remain loyal to the party.
