BJP Claims Respect for Tamil Language; Sudhanshu Trivedi Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Dividing the Country

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi launched a scathing political attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during a press conference held at the party headquarters in New Delhi. He alleged that Rahul Gandhi was attempting to divide the country through his statements and political activities.

Highlighting the achievements of the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre, Trivedi said that the government had consistently promoted and ensured due respect for all regional languages in the country, including Tamil. He also strongly criticised the opposition for making what he described as baseless and false allegations against the government for political gain.

Addressing the press conference, Sudhanshu Trivedi said that Rahul Gandhi’s alleged attempts to pit citizens and states against one another on linguistic grounds would never succeed. Referring to technological advancements, he said that modern software and technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), had made direct and accurate translation between languages increasingly accessible.

Trivedi sarcastically remarked that, in today’s world, no one could say something in one language and expect people speaking other languages not to understand it. He also strongly questioned statements describing the one-kilometre-long barricades erected in Delhi as part of security measures as an “Emergency.”

He argued that, during the actual Emergency, the Congress government had severely curtailed fundamental rights and civil liberties. He further alleged that those attempting to undermine Indian democracy by turning it into a “mobocracy” would never succeed in their efforts.

Speaking about the country’s economic progress, the BJP MP said that India’s economy was among the fastest-growing in the world. He attributed this growth partly to the unprecedented pace of industrial development across the country. He pointed out that major manufacturing facilities operated by global companies such as Samsung and Foxconn were now functioning successfully in India.

Trivedi further stated that India was setting new benchmarks in science and technology and had established itself as a major space power through its achievements in lunar exploration. He alleged that certain external forces were constantly conspiring to destabilise the country and claimed that similar disruptive elements were also operating within India.

Questioning Rahul Gandhi’s alleged support for foreign companies such as Starlink, Trivedi asked why the Congress party repeatedly appeared to side with foreign powers and individuals. In this context, he specifically referred to the Hindenburg report and the controversial AgustaWestland defence deal.
