Patna: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)’s significant decision to completely dissolve its various organizational units and cells has now drawn a significant response from party supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter and RJD leader Rohini Acharya. Rohini welcomed the party’s move, but also expressed her frank opinion that this major decision should have been taken long ago.
Sharing an official post on the social media platform ‘X’ on Friday, August 7, 2026, Rohini Acharya has placed an important demand before the top leadership of the party regarding the upcoming organisational expansion and restructuring.
In her social media post, Rohini Acharya emphasized that when new organizational units are formed, only those who have dedicated their lives to the party should be given prominent positions. She wrote, “It is hoped that in the reorganization of the new units, staunch Lalu supporters will be prioritized, and those loyal workers who have stood rock-solid with the party for years, despite all the difficulties, with complete honesty and dedication, will be brought to the forefront.” Rohini stated clearly that the command and actual responsibility of the organization should be handed over to those grassroots warriors who deeply understand the pulse of the organization and whose roots are directly connected to the common people.
Through this statement, Rohini Acharya strongly highlighted the core ideological thinking of the party’s national president, Lalu Prasad Yadav, and his principles of “social justice.” She emphasized, “Bringing socially, economically, and politically marginalized sections of society into the mainstream and providing dedicated grassroots workers with appropriate political opportunities and positions has always been a top priority for respected Lalu Prasad Yadav.” Advising other party leaders, she said that only by following Lalu Prasad Yadav’s path of struggle and his ideological principles with complete devotion can the party’s true transformation and strengthening be possible.
Rohini Acharya’s sharp and clear statement comes at a time when the RJD is undergoing a major transformation and reshuffle in its organizational structure. Her stance makes it clear that the political pressure to bring forward the “real and grassroots Lalu supporters” who struggle on the streets has increased, rather than those who engage in politics from within air-conditioned rooms. It will be interesting to see how much and to what extent the party’s top leadership will heed Rohini Acharya’s demand during the formation of new committees.
