Bhagwat’s comment on Gen Z sparks political firestorm; Priyanka Gandhi responds

New Delhi : A political debate has erupted over Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat’s recent “India’s International Movement to Unite Nations” interaction with youth. During the event, Mohan Bhagwat addressed approximately 2,000 “Gen G” and “Gen Alpha” members, prompting sharp reactions from the Congress party’s top leadership.

Reacting to the RSS chief’s interaction with youth and his statements, senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi directly targeted him. She sharply stated that she and her party do not need any kind of certificate or endorsement from RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. Following this statement, other Congress leaders have also begun to attack the RSS chief.

Congress MP K.C. Venugopal called Mohan Bhagwat’s address a mere gimmick. He said that if the RSS chief truly cares about Gen Z, he should ask the country’s Home Minister to resign or come to Parliament to apologize to the students. He questioned the government’s silence on the alleged atrocities against students during the protests, the use of pellet guns, and demanded accountability in this matter.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat clarified that he lacked detailed information about the clash between students and police during the event, stating that no final conclusions should be drawn without concrete facts. He added that while he blindly trusts the youth of the country, reports emanating from the media and other sources cannot rule out the involvement of anti-social elements, making it crucial to verify the truth.
