Congress active regarding CM selection, Kharge-Rahul took feedback from leaders

New Delhi: Following Congress’s resounding victory in the Kerala Assembly elections, all eyes are now focused on the selection of the next Chief Minister. Intense brainstorming is underway within the party, but even after several rounds of meetings, no consensus has yet been reached on a single name. Senior leaders participated in a three-hour high-level meeting at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence in Delhi, but the final decision has been withheld for now. Kharge and Rahul Gandhi have now been tasked with finalizing the Chief Minister’s name.

Several senior leaders, including Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal, Kerala Pradesh Congress President Sunny Joseph, and Ramesh Chennithala, attended this important meeting. During the meeting, the post-election situation and the outline of government formation were discussed in detail. According to sources, Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge have also personally spoken to the three main contenders for the post of Chief Minister to maintain balance in the state’s politics.

Following the meeting, senior leader Ramesh Chennithala clarified that there are no differences within the party and that all leaders will respect the high command’s decision. He stated that Congress is completely united and a formal announcement will be made as soon as instructions are received from Delhi. The leadership has sent a clear message to all contenders that the party’s decision should be accepted with patience and discipline.

Three names are currently leading the race to take charge of Kerala: KC Venugopal, VD Satheesan, and Ramesh Chennithala. All three leaders wield considerable influence in state politics and possess extensive administrative experience. While all three have publicly pledged their allegiance to the party high command, it will be interesting to see whose name the Congress leadership ultimately chooses, considering future challenges and social dynamics.
