Roman Catholic Bishop presents “Statement of Gratitude” to Hindu statesman Rajan Zed

In a remarkable interfaith gesture, Roman Catholic Diocese of Reno Bishop presented distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed with a “Statement of Gratitude”.

Citation of the Statement; presented to Zed by Bishop Most Reverend Daniel Henry Mueggenborg, publicly in a ceremony held in the briefing room of Reno Police Headquarters, said: You have championed the rights of the underprivileged, fostered respectful and fraternal dialogue among people from different backgrounds…

The citation also noted: I wish to thank you for your many involvements in inter-faith work on the local, state, national, and international levels.

May God continue to bless you with strength and energy to keep up these many good works for local, national, and international communities; the citation added.

Global religious statesman Rajan Zed has taken-up interfaith, religion, European Roma (Gypsies), and other causes all over the world. He has read opening prayers in the United States Senate and US House-of-Representatives in Washington DC; various State Senates, State Houses-of-Representatives, County Commissions, City Councils all-over USA; covering 292 legislative bodies in 43 states. He was invited by the President of the European Parliament in Brussels (Belgium) for a one-on-one meeting to promote interfaith dialogue.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, had been panelist for “On Faith”, a prestigious interactive conversation on religion produced by The Washington Post; and has been producing weekly interfaith panel “Faith Forum” in a Gannett daily for over 11 years.

Bishop Mueggenborg oversees about 90,000 Roman Catholics spread over about 71,000 square miles in 12 counties of Nevada—Carson, Churchill, Douglas, Elko, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander, Lyon, Mineral, Pershing, Storey, Washoe. He reports directly to the Vatican and 34 priests report to him. He also runs five schools.
