Ajit Pawar will snatch uncle’s stronghold; made strong inroads in western Maharashtra

Mumbai: Now it has clearly emerged that the Nationalist Congress Party is badly fractured. On the one hand, the nephew has also declared himself as the president of the party formed by his uncle, on the other hand, the uncle has asked the Election Commission to listen to him by applying K-Vit. Experts are also telling that the NCP is getting a firm hold and now possibilities are being raised that its bastion Western Maharashtra may be snatched from the hands of Sharad Pawar. It is being said that western Maharashtra will be affected the most by the rebellion in NCP. With the help of this region, Pawar’s party became powerful in the state. Daughter Supriya Sule’s area Baramati is also particularly at risk.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has been waiting for almost 5 decades to win this seat. The most important thing is that in Ajit Pawar’s meeting held on Wednesday, only 17 out of 22 NCP MLAs from West Maharashtra had reached. Whereas, 5 MLAs of the area were present in senior Pawar’s meeting. The NCP has four MPs from Western Maharashtra. These include the names of Supriya Sule (Baramati), Srinivas Patil (Satara), Amol Kolhe (Shirur) and Sunil Tatkare (Raigad). Among those who became part of the NDA government on Sunday, the name of MP Sunil Tatkare was also included.

Talking about the last election, in the 2019 assembly elections, out of 58 seats in Western Maharashtra, NCP got 22 seats, with the help of which the party reached the figure of 54. However, in 2020, the NCP was reduced to 53 following its defeat at the hands of the BJP in the Pandharpur-Mangalvedha bypoll. Of the other 36 seats, BJP had 18, Congress 8, Shiv Sena 4 and others 6. Senior Pawar was elected from here for the first time in the year 1967 and continued till 2009 either through the Vidhansabha or the Lok Sabha. Supriya won in 2009 after Pawar went to Rajya Sabha. In such a situation, it can be guessed that till now the situation has been in favor of Pawar, but the changed political equations can also change the electoral situation.

However, in 2014 and 2019, Ajith played a major role in Supriya’s victory. Now that Ajit is on a different path and BJP is also getting stronger in the region.
