Dulquer-starrer Kurup on TV for the first time, to be telecast on Zee Keralam

Kochi: Malayalam heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘Kurup’ will be telecast for the first time on Malayalam television, on Zee Keralam. The film will be aired on August 27, at 6.30 PM.

Kurup is based on the life story of Sukumara Kurup, the notorious fugitive Kerala has ever seen. In the flick, Dulquer Salmaan dons the role of Sudhakara Kurup.

The film unfolds with Sudhakara Kurup availing of an insurance policy of around Rs 8 lakh. The drama he and his gang pull off to extort this policy amount later leads to a heinous crime. Kurup and his gang kill a young man named Charlie and set the car in which he was travelling, on fire.

The whole plan is to make it look like Kurup has committed suicide so that the insurance money would be his. But, the criminal’s tactics fizzle out, as a joint investigation by the police and the forensic department concludes that the deceased is not Kurup. Knowing that he will be caught, Kurup leaves the country. Till date, no investigative team has been able to find the whereabouts of Kurup.

The film is produced by Dulquer Salmaan himself under the banner of Wayfarer Films. Directed by Srinath Rajendran, Kurup has screenplay and dialogues by Daniel Sayuj Nair and KS Aravind. The crime thriller, which posted big gains at the box office, is eagerly awaited by the audience of Zee Keralam.
