Maraya Art Centre presents“Maraya Summer Camp 2022” with a series of creative art workshops for children

Sharjah, United Arab Emirates: Maraya Art Centre, a non-profit creative initiative from Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) that supports emerging artists in the region, has announced this year’s edition of “Maraya Summer Camp” with a new series of various workshops starting on 25 July to 30 July. Timings vary from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the newly renovated 2nd floor of Maraya Art Centre.

Based on the theme ‘Build it!’, the workshops will provide children aged 7 to 12 an opportunity to create staged scenes with their individual creations. The workshop materials range from balloons, bricks, and pipe cleaners, but also include more classical ways of composition through painting and the use of mixed media.

The summer camp also features workshops on Impressionist and Pointillist compositions, one of them led by artist Zara Mahmood whose solo show is displayed at Maraya Art Centre. The 6-day camp will end with a workshop on the brand new trend of NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), digital artworks that children will be instructed to create, led by UAE-based curatorship “Morrow-collective”.

The participation fee for the 1-week summer camp package is AED 390 inclusive of VAT, while a solo workshop registration fee would cost AED 80 inclusive of VAT. For registration and more information,  please email at rsvp@maraya.ae or Whatsapp at 054 997 0535.
